A collection of housewares that define Simplehuman as one of the leading household product brand.
For over two decades, LDA has served as Simplehuman’s core industrial design partner, shaping many of the brand’s most iconic products. As Senior Industrial Designer and Head of Design Operations, I helped direct and execute work across many of those major release, spanning a wide range of products including sensor mirrors, soap pumps, and trash cans. My involvement covered the complete product lifecycle: from initial research and exploratory sketching through to final design direction, prototyping, and production.

PAPER TOWEL HOLDER WITH SPRAY
Born from the observation that spray bottles and paper towels are universally used together in the kitchen but stored apart, this project unified them into a single, simple accessible package. The design integrates a custom spray bottle directly into the center stem using a concealed push-push mechanical release. By prioritizing a behavioral loop over iterative hardware updates, the final product improves the user experience in the kitchen while remaining minimal and unobtrusive.

COMPOST CADDY
Compost Caddy began with the goal to encourage composting by adding convenience and removing friction. Original design intent was unbound by the existing trash can design and included stand-alone and modular concepts before eventually evolving into a product that was an accessory to the Simplehuman trash cans.

The Compost Caddy was designed to improve the composting experience. The caddy uses a magnetic dock to easily attach to the hook installed to the trash can. The soft-seal lid contains the odors while allowing the compost the breathe.

BOTTLE DOCK
The Bottle Dock was began as a companion for the Simplehuman Dish Rack. Originally designed for specialty drying needs, the device included shelves, fans, heated drying pads, and modular racks. The final design distilled the dock down to its core features, as a stand alone product, organizing your bottles, lids and straws.

The Bottle Dock has the capacity to hold three, 40 oz bottles with a variety of lid and straw sizes. The dock is sectioned so each bottle is aligned with it's parts for easy organization.

The interior of the Bottle Dock is designed to move water out of the way and an increase air flow. The base of the dock is a drying rack is made from diatomaceous earth, which naturally absorbs the water and dries without the need to dispense excess water into the sink.
