Business from the front. Attention to detail all around.

When we partnered with QSC to design the Q-SYS family of touch screen controllers, the objective was to create a unified family of enterprise-level enterprise devices that felt visually quiet from a the front, yet richly detailed up close. Because these controllers are mounted in high-visibility corporate environments including walls, glass, or tabletops, we focused heavily on minimizing their perceived thickness. We wrapped the display glass in a glossy polycarbonate edge detail that mirrors the screen's finish to create a seamless transition from screen to body, while adding crucial impact protection. To further reduce the profile, we designed a chamfered radius along the sides that draws the eye away from the front edge, making the unit appear incredibly thin while providing a soft, natural touch point for users adjusting the screen by hand.

We treated the often-ignored back architecture with the same attention as the front, ensuring a level of craftsmanship is noticed throughout product. The cast aluminum backplate features a sharp, structural ledge that cleanly transitions into a custom dot texture. This signature texture serves a triple purpose: establishing a distinct visual identity for QSC, masking potential molding imperfections on a broad, flat surface, and maximizing the casting's surface area for enhanced thermal heat sinking. Even the side vents were clever cross-functional design, transforming from necessary ventilation paths into integrated reveals for room-status LEDs. By balancing these hidden functional details with an unobtrusive, sculptural tabletop stand, our team delivered a premium enterprise ecosystem where every detail, seen or unseen, feels entirely intentional.
