The Primacy CS Centerpiece and Remote are the premium controls for the high end Primacy sound system developed by JL Audio. The monolithic cast-aluminum chassis houses a dense, high-output internal package, requiring us to solve tight physical and thermal constraints without breaking the clean aesthetic. To elevate the perceived premium quality, we kept the overall form simple and refined, utilizing a singular glass panel across the face of the device allowing the display to vanish entirely when inactive. The simplicity of the design directs the user’s focus to the watch-like mechanical details of the solid milled aluminum control knob with an enamel textured that is magnified by a domed glass facade.
